What’s going on Do Better Nation?
As you can see from the graphic above… it’s been one of those weeks…
But as Pops would say… “Nothing to cry about…” and certainly nothing to complain about…
It started small…
Tuesday night… I got my 4th case of RROD… and Microsoft… tried to get me to pay $100 for the repair… however, after some deliberation…. it was resolved that I wouldn’t have pay to get the box fixed…
Wednesday… Cinco De Mayo… I didn’t pull the trigger on buying a car… and the opportunity passed… once again… nothing to complain… pretty mundane…
Thursday… now Thursday… the gods pulled out all the stops… because as I type these words on a beautiful Friday morning in the Nation’s Capital… I may or may not be with a job… well, at this present moment I do have a job… but the future is up in the air… the circumstances surrounding my current employment status will be revealed in another blog next week… I need to see how the story ends before I post it…
So, as you can see with all that before me… Do Better Thursday took a backseat… but with my new free time…
LET’S GET TO IT!!!
Doing It Right…
- This past Monday the Spirit of the Godfather of Soul turned 77… Below is a clip of the “hardest working man in show business” getting down on the good foot… Enjoy…
- Seattle kid with cancer turns into a superhero and saves the day! “Thursday was shaping up to be just another school day for 13-year-old Erik Martin, but then something extraordinary happened: Spider-Man called. Spider-Man happens to be one of the few people who knows that Erik, too, has a secret identity — he’s Electron Boy, a superhero who fights the powers of evil with light. And Spider-Man needed Erik’s help.” – Seattle Times Writer, Katherine Long
With only one wish… he chose to save mankind…
Doing It Wrong…
- Young Jeezy’s “Trap or Die II: Be Any Means Necessary” mixtape cover… I’ll just get keep this simple… No. (Below is the cover art and Jeezy’s explanation… still, No.)
- Teenager Phillie’s fan runs onto field and gets zapped… by now this story has reached both sides of the nation… and prompted a debate of the use of tasers during non-life threatening incidents… initially, I was all for it… you disturb a public event… ZAP!!! …however, after lightly researching the death rates of tasers… i’m “on the fence”… it certainly can be overdone… and if we began to use them in these types of situations… who knows how far it will go… however… to tase or not to tase… isn’t the reason why the young lad was “doing it wrong”… what was wrong is… the teenager called his father and asked (or told him) should I scale this fence and run onto the field… at which point the father responded… “I don’t think that’s a good idea…” end result… he gets ZAPPED! Now… my question… what did the father do when his dumbass son came home… I mean… if my Pops said… “I don’t think it’s good idea…” to anything I sought his advice on… I chose option… “do the opposite…” i.e. the good idea… it may be too late… but I really think the father needs to reassert his stature with Sir Sprints-a-lot… check out the video…
…now the clapping… i just don’t get…
Well… that about does it for this week in Do Better Thursday… Late edition… I would add LT to the list… but yeah… we all know… hope it’s not as bad as it seems… but it’s looking like it is…
Also, be on the lookout for my story/blog/thoughts/rant on my current job situation… I’ll need your help getting the word out… 😉
Until then…
Keep doing better…
